As part of the investigation, the police have released a sample of the fake Rs 500 note to help the public identify counterfeits. A key distinguishing feature of the fake note is the misspelling of “RESERVE BANK OF INDIA” as “RESARVE BANK OF INDIA” above the Red Fort image. Officials have urged people to use this marker to verify the authenticity of notes in circulation.

The Bihar Police Headquarters has appealed to citizens to thoroughly check Rs 500 notes before accepting them and to make others aware of the issue.
