Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar Inspects PACS and Vegetable Producer Society in Bikram, Bihar

Patna: Dr. Prem Kumar, Minister for the Cooperative Department, visited the Block Primary Vegetable Producer Cooperative Society (PACS) in Bikram and Saidabad Kanpa PACS in Bikram to inspect the ongoing procurement activities. During the visit, he interacted with farmers and inquired about the procurement process, urging them to take advantage of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) by supplying paddy to the PACS.

Dr. Kumar directed PACS officials to ensure that payments to farmers be made within two days, emphasizing timely disbursement. He also briefed the farmers about various departmental schemes aimed at benefiting them. The Secretary of the Cooperative Department, Dharmendra Singh, along with other senior officers, including the Forest Division Officer and Joint Registrar, Patna Division, were present during the inspection.

Further, Dr. Kumar engaged with vegetable-producing farmers at the Primary Vegetable Producer Cooperative Society in Bikram. He listened to their concerns and instructed officials to address the issues raised. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for infrastructure development under the departmental scheme, assuring farmers of efforts to secure a fair price for their produce.

The minister’s visit highlights the government’s continued focus on improving cooperative structures and supporting agricultural communities in Bihar.
