Patna: Jitan Ram Manjhi, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Government of India and former Chief Minister of Bihar, has written to President Draupadi Murmu, recommending the Bharat Ratna for Acharya Kishore Kunal. In his letter, Manjhi highlighted the significant contributions of the former IPS officer to society and expressed his happiness in making the recommendation.
Acharya Kishore Kunal, a 1972 batch IPS officer, served as Special Officer for resolving the Ayodhya case. Beyond his administrative career, he made remarkable contributions in the religious and social fields. Under his leadership, the Mahavir Mandir Trust established the Mahavir Cancer Institute, providing healthcare services to the underprivileged. He also founded Gyan Niketan Vidyalaya in Patna and played a pivotal role in the renovation of the historic Mundeshwari Bhavani Temple on Kaimur Hills.
Manjhi also mentioned Kishore Kunal’s efforts in initiating the construction of the Virat Ramayana Temple in East Champaran, which is set to become the world’s largest temple. These initiatives, according to Manjhi, showcase Acharya Kishore Kunal’s dedication to societal welfare and cultural preservation.
In his letter, Manjhi emphasized his personal knowledge of Acharya Kishore Kunal’s work and stated that the honor of Bharat Ratna would be a fitting recognition of his contributions. He expressed hope that the President would consider this recommendation positively.
