President Accepts IPS Shivdeep Lande’s Resignation After 117 Days
Patna: The resignation of IPS officer Shivdeep Lande, a 2006-batch officer from Maharashtra, has been officially accepted after 117 days. President Draupadi Murmu approved Lande’s resignation on January 13, with the Bihar Home Department issuing a notification late on January 14.
Lande had tendered his resignation on September 19, 2024, while serving as the Inspector General (IG) of the Purnia Range. He had taken charge of the position on September 6, but shortly after submitting his resignation, he was transferred to the headquarters and assigned the role of IG Training. Rakesh Rathi was appointed as his replacement in Purnia.
Following Lande’s resignation, there were speculations about him potentially withdrawing it, but the confirmation of its acceptance puts an end to the rumors. Known for his diligent service, Lande has been a prominent officer throughout his career.
Born into a farming family in Maharashtra, he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering before joining the Indian Police Service. He gained prominence during his tenure as the Superintendent of Police in Patna, where his efforts in combating crime earned him widespread recognition. Notably, he led the team that cracked the 2021 Antilia bomb scare case in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the resignation of IPS Kamya Mishra, who submitted her resignation 130 days ago, remains pending with the Home Department. The reason for the delay in processing Mishra’s resignation has not been disclosed.
