Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Development Projects in Saharsa, Announces Key Initiatives During Pragati Yatra

Saharsa: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a review meeting in Saharsa to assess the progress of development schemes under the third phase of Pragati Yatra.

The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, saw detailed presentations by Saharsa District Magistrate Vaibhav Chaudhary on various initiatives, including the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, Chief Minister Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Matta Scheme, and the Kushal Yuva Program.

Public representatives also presented their concerns and demands to the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the significant strides made in Bihar’s development since 2005, highlighting improvements in various sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and law and order. He underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive development and highlighted initiatives like women’s empowerment through reservations in panchayats and government jobs, and the focus on rural development through schemes like Saat Nishchay Yojana.

The Chief Minister made several key announcements, including the dredging of the Tilave river to improve water levels, the development of a storm water drainage system in Saharsa, and the development of Maa Ugratara Dham as a tourist center. He also announced the construction of a divisional-level sports complex, a railway overbridge at Bengali Bazaar, and the construction of block-cum-area offices in Banma Ithari and Sattar Kataiya blocks.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, and other senior officials.
