Patna District Child Protection Unit Receives Top Award for Issuing Highest Number of Transgender ID Cards in Bihar

Patna: The Patna District Child Protection Unit has been recognized for its outstanding work in issuing transgender ID cards. The unit received the first prize at a special program organized by the Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BALSA).

This recognition acknowledges the unit’s exceptional performance in processing a total of 159 transgender ID card applications, the highest number among all districts in the state.

The District Magistrate of Patna expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing that it represents a significant step towards ensuring respect and equal opportunities for the transgender community. He reiterated the district administration’s commitment to providing equal rights and opportunities to all sections of society, aligning with the state government’s objectives.

The event was attended by senior officials from the Bihar State Legal Services Authority, representatives from the Social Welfare Department, and officials from child protection units across the state. The Patna District Child Protection Unit was commended for its exemplary work, and other districts were encouraged to emulate its success.

The Assistant Director of the Patna District Child Protection Unit attributed this achievement to the dedication and hard work of the team and the strong support from the administration.
