IGIMS Physiotherapy Department to Get Rs 62.57 Lakh Upgrade Under IOCL CSR Initiative

Patna: The Physiotherapy Department at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, is set to receive a Rs 62.57 lakh upgrade, with state-of-the-art physiotherapy equipment being installed under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

An agreement was signed on Thursday between IGIMS and IOCL to enhance physiotherapy services at the institute. The initiative aims to modernize treatment facilities and improve patient care.

Strengthening Healthcare Services

Speaking on the occasion, IGIMS Director Dr. Binde Kumar expressed gratitude to IOCL, stating that the collaboration would equip the physiotherapy department with cutting-edge technology. IOCL Bihar Executive Director Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary emphasized the corporation’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services as part of its social responsibility efforts.

Advanced Equipment to Be Installed

As part of the upgrade, the Physiotherapy Department will be equipped with:

  • Spinal Decompression Unit
  • Mobilization Bed
  • Combination Microwave Diathermy
  • Traction Therapy
  • EMG Biofeedback for Physiotherapy
  • Rehabilitation Robot
  • Virtual Reality (VR) System
  • Cognitive Rehabilitation Equipment

The development is expected to significantly enhance rehabilitation services at IGIMS, benefiting patients requiring advanced physiotherapy treatments.
