Yellow Alert Issued for Dense Fog in Five Bihar Districts
Patna: A yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in five districts of Bihar today, with light to moderate westerly winds expected across the region. The Patna Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather, clear skies, and above-normal maximum temperatures for the next five days. Morning fog is likely to persist in areas along the Himalayan foothills.
According to Kumar Gaurav, a scientist at the Patna Meteorological Centre, two western disturbances could impact the western Himalayan region on 3 and 8 February. “This may lead to a brief spell of colder weather in Bihar from 5 February, accompanied by cloud cover in several districts,” he said.
On Sunday, all districts in Bihar experienced dry weather. Moderate fog was observed in northern Terai districts, including Bhagalpur and Purnia, while most of southern Bihar remained sunny.
Patna is expected to see stable weather today, with clear skies and sunshine from the morning. The maximum temperature is set to rise by 2-3°C during the day, and with low wind speeds, the cold is unlikely to be felt strongly.
In the past 24 hours, Buxar recorded the highest temperature in the state at 30.3°C, while Motihari was the coldest district.
