Saraswati Puja Today: 5,000 Personnel Deployed, Hostels Under Watch; Action Against Provocative Posts

Saraswati Puja Today

Patna: With Saraswati Puja set to take place on Monday, Patna Police have ramped up security measures across the city to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations. A deployment of 5,000 police personnel, including officers in plain clothes, will be stationed at key locations, while CCTV cameras and social media monitoring teams have been put in place to detect any inflammatory content or disturbances.

Security operations began on Sunday night, with raids conducted across Patna University and private hostels. Vehicle checks were also initiated as part of preventive measures. A flag march, led by the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Patna Police, was carried out through sensitive areas, including Patna City, Ashok Rajpath, university precincts, Kadamkuan, Kankarbagh, Phulwarisharif, and Danapur.

Authorities have issued a stern warning against any attempts to disrupt public order. “If anyone takes the law into their own hands, creates unrest, or engages in violence, they will be arrested and sent to jail,” said Patna SSP Avkash Kumar.

A special focus has been placed on high-density student areas, particularly from Kargil Chowk to NIT Mor, covering BN College, Patna College, and Science College. Additional police forces will be deployed at Musallahpur, Ramna Road, Bahadurpur, Nayatola, and Bazar Samiti—locations known for their large student populations.

Traffic management is also a priority, with an increased number of personnel assigned to prevent congestion. Bikers will remain under strict surveillance, and checkpoints have been set up to maintain order on the roads.

With these heightened security arrangements, authorities aim to ensure that Saraswati Puja celebrations proceed without incident, allowing devotees and students to mark the occasion peacefully.
