Patna: Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital, run by the Mahavir Mandir Trust, organised a free health camp in memory of Acharya Kishore Kunal at Digha Post Office Road in Patna. The initiative, which included free medical check-ups and distribution of blankets and warm socks to the underprivileged, benefitted over 50 people.
Dr Nikhil Goyal, Joint Medical Superintendent of Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital, said the camp was held to honour the late Acharya Kishore Kunal, the founder of nine charitable hospitals, including Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital. Patients underwent free blood tests, including sugar level checks, and received medical consultations from specialist doctors.
Dr Goyal highlighted that while the hospital primarily serves senior citizens, it also provides affordable treatment for people of all ages. The camp was attended by hospital doctors, including Dr Shashi Ranjan, Dr Khushboo, and Dr Swati.
Former Chief Secretary Vijay Shankar Dubey, Chairman of the hospital’s governing body, said Acharya Kishore Kunal had established Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital to ensure subsidised healthcare for elderly patients and others in need. He added that efforts are underway to enhance medical facilities at the hospital to better serve the public.
