Patna Women’s College Hosts Bharatnatyam Session With Renowned Dancer Kriti Rani
Patna: Patna Women’s College hosted an enriching session on Bharatnatyam, organized by the Natraj Club, featuring Kriti Rani, a distinguished Bharatnatyam dancer and a graded artist from Doordarshan Kendra, Patna, as the guest speaker. With a 14-year career representing Bihar at national and international levels, Ms. Rani has received accolades including the Yuva Kala Virasat Samman and the honor of performing before a former President of India.
The session, titled “Bharatnatyam: Dance as a Discipline,” commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, attended by Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Ms. Kriti Rani, and Ms. Komal Kumari, marking an auspicious beginning.
Ms. Rani captivated the audience with an insightful presentation, exploring Bharatnatyam’s history, technique, and significance in Indian culture. She highlighted the role of dance in education, emphasizing its impact on academic development, physical fitness, and mental harmony. An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing students to engage deeply with the art form.
The event was moderated by Shreyashvi Raj, President of Natraj Club, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Parnoshree, Treasurer of Natraj Club, who expressed gratitude for Ms. Rani’s inspiring presence and invaluable insights.
