Bihar To See 3°C Rise In Temperature Over 4 Days; Cold To Return With Rain From February 8
Patna: The weather across Bihar remains dry due to the influence of westerly winds, with light to moderate fog expected in the northern parts of the state. However, districts including Patna will continue to experience dry conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Patna has forecasted a gradual increase in temperatures over the next 72 hours, leading to a reduction in cold conditions. The minimum temperature is expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius during this period.
Banka Remains the Coldest in Bihar
With westerly winds slowing down, normal weather conditions are expected. On Sunday, 21 cities, including Patna, recorded an increase in minimum temperatures.
- Patna’s minimum temperature was recorded at 13.2°C, while
- Banka remained the coldest in the state at 6.8°C.
- Patna’s maximum temperature was 25.3°C, whereas
- Aurangabad recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 28.3°C.
Temperature Variations Across Districts
While most districts witnessed a rise in temperatures, exceptions included Chhapra, Pupri, and Purnia, where a drop in maximum temperatures was observed. Light fog affected the northern districts, while other regions, including Patna, remained dry.
Below-Normal Rainfall Predicted, Rising Temperatures May Impact Crops
The weather department has predicted below-normal rainfall for February. Additionally, both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain above normal, leading to a decline in cold conditions and an early onset of warmer temperatures.
- Rising temperatures may impact Rabi crops, potentially affecting agricultural output and public life.
- If the temperature increases further by the end of February, farmers may face challenges in irrigation and crop yield management.
