Bihar’s Curiosity for Politics: PM Modi Responds to Gaya Student’s Leadership Question in Pariksha Pe Charcha

PM Modi Responds to Gaya Student’s Leadership Question in Pariksha Pe Charcha

New Delhi/ Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students during the eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha on Monday, addressing board exam-related concerns of Class 10 and 12 students.

During the session, Viraj, a Class 11 student from Gaya, Bihar, asked the Prime Minister about leadership lessons that could help young minds progress. Responding with a touch of humour, PM Modi remarked, “It is not possible for a boy from Bihar to not have questions related to politics. People of Bihar are very brilliant.”

Leadership Goes Beyond Speeches, Says PM

The Prime Minister stressed that leadership is not about wearing a kurta-pyjama and giving speeches on stage, but about leading by example. “A class monitor cannot simply demand punctuality from others—he must first ensure that he is always on time himself. A leader must help others, understand their difficulties, and earn respect through action rather than words,” he said.

He also underscored the importance of teamwork in leadership, urging students to take responsibility rather than delegate blindly. “If you assign someone a task, you must also understand the difficulties they face. Leadership is about stepping in where support is needed, and trust is built through consistent efforts,” he added.

The ongoing Pariksha Pe Charcha program comprises eight episodes, featuring 12 celebrities, top rankers from UPSC, CBSE, and JEE, as well as students from previous editions who are sharing their experiences and insights.
