Patna: Four armed miscreants were arrested on Monday evening following a tense standoff with police in Patna’s Kankarbagh area. The three-hour encounter ended with the Special Task Force (STF) and police from four stations surrounding a house where the criminals had taken refuge after opening fire.
The incident unfolded on Ram Lakhan Path 6 when the assailants allegedly approached a businessman, demanding extortion money. When he refused, they fired multiple rounds before fleeing into a nearby house. Acting swiftly, police teams sealed the area, cutting off all escape routes.
Patna SSP Avkash Kumar confirmed that while the criminals fired four rounds, the police did not return fire. “All four have been arrested, and further investigations are underway,” he said.
