Patna Women’s College Hosts Vigyan Utsav 2025 to Inspire Scientific Innovation

Patna: Patna Women’s College inaugurated Vigyan Utsav 2025, a three-day science festival, on Tuesday, with the theme “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.” The event, running until February 28, aims to provide a platform for students to showcase scientific innovations and foster critical thinking.
The inaugural session featured a welcome song and a dance drama titled “Mission India: Power of Science and Technology.” A special video highlighting the academic progress of the college’s Science Departments was also screened.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the crucial role of science education in societal progress. Dr. Shobha Shrivastav, Dean of the Faculty of Science and convenor of Vigyan Utsav 2025, outlined the event’s objectives, highlighting the importance of Science Day celebrations.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Surya Kant Verma, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Engineering University, encouraged students to cultivate curiosity and perseverance in scientific pursuits. Guest of Honor Dr. Namita Kumari, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Patna University and Principal of Magadh Mahila College, stressed the importance of critical thinking and responsible citizenship in shaping future scientists.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of Vigyan Darpan, an edited volume featuring scientific research papers.
The event was moderated by Poonam Abraham Lakra, Head of the AI-ML Department, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Manisha Prasad, Head of the Computer Applications (BCA) Department. Faculty members and students from various science disciplines actively participated in the opening session.
Vigyan Utsav 2025 seeks to ignite a spirit of inquiry and innovation among students by offering opportunities to engage with leading scientists, industry experts, and peers, reinforcing India’s vision for scientific excellence and global leadership.
