Weather Alert Issued for Bihar on Mahashivratri; Rain Expected in 20 Districts

Patna: The Bihar Meteorological Department has issued an alert for deteriorating weather conditions on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Light rainfall is expected in 20 districts over the next 24 hours, with warnings for lightning in some areas. However, this rain is being considered auspicious for devotees participating in religious festivities.
Rain Forecast for 20 Districts
A cyclonic circulation over northeastern Assam is expected to bring light showers in parts of Bihar. The districts likely to receive rainfall include:
- Northwestern Bihar: East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj
- Northeastern Bihar: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar
- Southwestern Bihar: Buxar, Rohtas, Bhabua, Arwal
Cloudy Skies Expected in Patna and Other Regions
Patna and surrounding areas are expected to remain dry but partly cloudy. However, light rainfall is predicted in southern Bihar, including Patna, on March 1. The meteorological department also forecasts a rise in temperature by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next three to four days.

- Minimum temperature: Between 11.5°C and 18.7°C
- Patna’s minimum temperature: 16.6°C
- Lowest minimum temperature: 11.5°C in Banka and Agwanpur, Saharsa
- Patna’s maximum temperature: 28.4°C
- Highest maximum temperature: 30.5°C in Khagaria
Despite the mild cold in the mornings and evenings, the overall weather is expected to remain normal. Devotees and residents have been advised to stay cautious due to possible thunderstorms in some areas.
