Holi 2025: Three-Day Shutdown in Bihar – Government Offices, Banks, and Schools to Remain Closed

Patna : Government offices, banks, and schools across Bihar will remain closed for three consecutive days from March 14 to March 16 in observance of Holi, as per the official holiday calendar released by the Bihar government. Residents are advised to complete any essential work related to government offices or banks by March 13, as normal operations will resume only on March 17.
Extended Holidays for Government Employees
The Bihar government has declared March 14 and 15 as official holidays for Holi, with March 16 falling on a Sunday. This means government employees will enjoy an uninterrupted three-day break. The extended holiday is expected to bring festive cheer but may also cause delays in administrative services.
Banks to Remain Closed for Three Days
Bank employees in Bihar will also benefit from the extended break. While March 14 and 15 have been designated as Holi holidays, banks will remain closed on March 15 despite it being the third Saturday of the month. As a result, all banking operations will be suspended for three days. Customers are encouraged to complete their banking transactions by March 13 to avoid any inconvenience.
Schools to Remain Shut; Limited Operations on March 13
Government schools in Bihar will also observe a three-day holiday from March 14 to 16. While schools will remain open on March 13, no examinations will be conducted on that day. Teachers will be required to report to work, but students will have the day off.
