Patna: A four-member delegation from Vietnam’s industry and trade sector arrived in Patna on March 19 for a four-day visit to Bihar, following an invitation from the Bihar Industries Association (BIA). The visit, facilitated by Nikhil Singh and Omar Hejazine, aims to strengthen trade and tourism ties between Bihar and Vietnam.
On their first day, the delegation, accompanied by BIA officials, held discussions with Bihar’s tourism and industry ministers, as well as senior officials from the art, culture, and youth department. The talks focused on enhancing business cooperation and investment opportunities between the two regions. Gokhlesh Kumar played a key role in coordinating the visit.
In the afternoon, a meeting was held at the BIA campus, where delegation members were welcomed with floral bouquets. BIA Vice President CA Ashish Rohatgi highlighted Bihar’s exports to Vietnam and the state’s potential as a destination for Vietnamese tourists, given its rich Buddhist heritage.
Dinh Vinh Chuang, President of the Vietnam International Entrepreneurship Networking Club, outlined trade flows between the two countries. Vietnam imports silk, medicines, maize, sugar, chemicals, and machinery from India while exporting fresh fruits, black pepper, coffee, beans, and cashew nuts. He emphasized the growing number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Bihar’s Buddhist circuit and expressed optimism about expanding trade and tourism cooperation.
BIADA’s Executive Director (Investment Promotion), Santosh Kumar Sinha, presented Bihar’s industrial landscape and infrastructure, inviting the Vietnamese delegation to consider setting up a leather processing unit in the state. He assured full support from BIADA for investment initiatives.
Dubai-based entrepreneur Omar Hejazine discussed Bihar’s export potential, particularly in maize, and suggested exploring Vietnam’s expertise in textiles. He expressed confidence that strengthened cooperation would create mutual business benefits and pledged continued efforts to build trade relations.
The event was attended by several BIA representatives, including Treasurer CA Arvind Kumar, former President Arun Agarwal, and Tourism Committee Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh, along with members of VenturePark and other business leaders.
During discussions with Bihar’s Industry Minister, Nitish Mishra, the Vietnamese delegation explored opportunities for technology transfer and investment in food processing, electric vehicles, and electronics. The talks also focused on the potential of the upcoming 1,700-acre industrial park in Gaya, being developed by BIADA with central government support.
