Bihar Sports University to Host National Conclave on Physical Education and Sports Science

Patna: Bihar Sports University, Rajgir is set to host a two-day national conclave on physical education and sports science on March 20-21. The event will bring together academicians, policymakers, and sports experts from across the country to discuss various aspects of the field.

The conclave will be inaugurated on March 20 at 10:15 am, with former vice-chancellor of the Gwalior-based NNIPE, Major General SN Mukherjee, leading discussions on the curriculum for physical education and sports science. The programme will feature 10 technical sessions, with speakers including Dr Lalit Sharma of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Delhi University, and Dr Vikram Singh of Banaras Hindu University.

On March 21, Roshan Kumar of SPAAB, Patna, will address contemporary demands in sports science, while Bihar Sports University vice-chancellor, Shishir Sinha, will deliver a speech at 4:15 pm.

Meanwhile, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has granted membership to Bihar Sports University, Rajgir, effective from April 1 in the eastern region. The AIU General Body had approved the decision in its 84th annual meeting on November 14, 2009.
