Patna: The mortal remains of a Bihar soldier martyred in Operation Snow Leopard were received with full honours at Patna airport on Froday, as state officials, military representatives and ex-servicemen gathered to pay tribute.
Naik Dev Kishore Sah (No. 4293321K), a soldier of the 19 Bihar Regiment, was martyred in action on June 5 during an operation in a war-like situation. He was a native of Dhanon Baburia Tola village in Saran district’s Baniyapur block.
His remains arrived at Patna airport at 9.15am on Friday , where a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was conducted.
Sumit Kumar Singh, representing the chief minister, led the state’s tribute. Also present were senior officials from the military and civil administration, including the military representative on behalf of the Minister for Science and Technology, officials from the Chief of Army Staff and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, Pranav Kumar from the Bihar government, Vinay Kumar from the Home Department, Patna SSP Avkash Kumar, and the director of the Sainik Welfare Directorate.
The ceremony reflected the collective grief and pride of Bihar, a state with a long tradition of contributing to India’s armed forces. Ex-servicemen’s representatives were also present to honour the sacrifice of Naik Sah.
Operation Snow Leopard has involved Indian troops in challenging high-altitude deployments in the eastern sector. The state government and armed forces reiterated their commitment to supporting the bereaved family of the martyred soldier.
