Patna: The Income Tax Department organised a training programme on Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) provisions and compliance at Vidyut Bhawan, Patna, on September 30.
The programme was chaired by Shri Arvind Kumar, General Manager (Finance & Accounts), Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL).
The training was aimed at improving understanding of tax provisions, strengthening compliance and making financial processes more streamlined, transparent and effective.
Income Tax Commissioner Explains Key TDS/TCS Provisions
The key speaker at the programme was Shri K. L. Kanak, IRS, Income Tax Commissioner (TDS), who provided detailed insights into important and practical aspects of TDS and TCS.
The session focused on the role of TDS and TCS in ensuring tax compliance and their application in day-to-day official and financial processes.
Kanak also highlighted the importance of following prescribed tax procedures, maintaining transparency in financial transactions and understanding the various provisions applicable to TDS and TCS.
Officials Briefed on Compliance and Financial Transactions
During the training, participants were briefed on important aspects of proper TDS/TCS compliance, including precautions to be taken during financial transactions.
The session also covered the systematic execution of tax-related procedures and the need for accuracy in financial processes to ensure compliance with applicable provisions.
The programme provided participants with an opportunity to understand practical issues associated with TDS/TCS and seek greater clarity on their implementation in official work.
BSPHCL and Subsidiary Companies Participate
Officials and employees from the Accounts and Finance wings of BSPHCL and its subsidiary companies participated in the training programme.
Personnel from regional offices also joined the session through video conferencing, enabling wider participation across the organisation.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on strengthening tax compliance and ensuring more transparent and effective financial practices in the power sector.
