Bihar Board Class 10, 12 Compartment Exam Dates Announced; Exams start from May 2

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially released the timetable for the Class 10 (Matric) and Class 12 (Intermediate) special and compartment examinations for 2025. These exams are scheduled to commence on May 2 and are intended for students who either failed or missed the annual board exams conducted in February.

For Class 10 students, the exams will be held in two shifts daily: the morning session from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM and the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Students can appear for up to three subjects, including core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, along with one optional subject.

Class 12 students will have their exams on May 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13, also in two shifts each day. The board has allocated an additional 15 minutes before the start of each exam for students to read the question paper.

The results for these compartment exams are expected to be declared by May 31. Earlier, the BSEB had opened the scrutiny application window for Intermediate students from April 1 to April 8, allowing them to request a re-evaluation of their answer sheets. This window closed on April 12.

In the annual examinations held in March, the pass percentage for Class 12 saw a slight decline to 86.50% from the previous year’s 87.21%, with 11,07,330 out of 12,80,211 students passing. For Class 10, the pass percentage stood at 82.11%, with 307,792 students securing a third division, comprising 138,144 boys and 169,648 girls.

Students are advised to prepare diligently and utilise this opportunity to improve their academic standings.
