Patna : The Bihar Cabinet has approved three road infrastructure projects with a combined administrative sanction of Rs 371 crore, covering Vishwamitra Path, Ganga Ambika Path and Narayani Path. The projects will be developed through the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL) under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The proposed projects include a 90-km Vishwamitra Path, a 56-km Ganga Ambika Path and a 73.51-km Narayani Path in Gopalganj district. The approvals are aimed at advancing road connectivity through the development of these corridors.

The decisions were taken at the state Cabinet meeting on Wednesday as part of a wider set of approvals relating to infrastructure, land transfers and administrative restructuring.

Vishwamitra Path To Extend For 90 Km

The Cabinet approved the proposal for Vishwamitra Path, which is planned to cover 90 km. The project is among the three road corridors included in the Rs 371 crore administrative approval.

The Cabinet also cleared the development of the 56-km Ganga Ambika Path, which will connect Bidupur and Dighwara. The project is expected to strengthen road connectivity along the proposed corridor.

Narayani Path Planned In Gopalganj

The third project, Narayani Path, involves the construction of a 73.51-km road linked to Dubouli Ghat in Gopalganj district, according to the reported Cabinet decision.

All three projects will be taken up through BSRDCL under the PPP model. The total administrative approval for the projects stands at Rs 371 crore.

Land Transfer Approved For Supaul–Araria Rail Line

The Cabinet also approved proposals to transfer state government land to the Ministry of Railways for the Supaul–Araria new railway line project.

The approved proposal includes approximately 3.13 acres of land in the Pipra area of Supaul district, for which a payment of Rs 66.97 lakh has been proposed. A further 21.48 acres in the Triveniganj–Pipra area will be transferred under a proposal involving a payment of Rs 4.22 crore.

The land transfers are intended to facilitate the railway project by making the required state-owned land available to the Railways.

Satellite Township And Administrative Proposals Cleared

The Cabinet approved the removal of restrictions on the purchase, sale and transfer of land in designated greenfield satellite township areas. It also cleared a proposal to expand the planning area of Sonpur.

As part of administrative restructuring, the government approved the transfer of four posts and the creation of 20 posts across different categories to support the functioning of regional offices.

The decisions cover road and rail infrastructure, urban planning and administrative arrangements, with the three road projects accounting for Rs 371 crore in approved administrative expenditure.
