World Book Day at Jesus and Mary Academy: Students Embrace Books as “Priceless Treasure”

Patna : An event marking World Book Day was held on Wednesday at Jesus and Mary Academy in Kaimashikoh Hajiganj, Patna City, with a focus on cultivating reading habits among students and recognising the enduring value of books.
The programme opened with a prayer, followed by an address from the school principal, Pooja N Sharma, who described books as a “priceless treasure of knowledge”. She urged students to incorporate reading into their daily lives.
Students from classes 6 to 10 took part in poster-making activities and book discussion sessions, engaging enthusiastically with the themes of literature and learning.
The event was organised under the guidance of teachers Usha Kiran and Arjun Prasad Mishra. Speaking at the conclusion, deputy director Abhishek Patrick praised the role of books in personal development, calling them “the truest friends in today’s times”
