Traffic Restrictions Imposed Across North Bihar

Madhubani/ Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar on Thursday has prompted a major traffic overhaul across parts of north Bihar, with authorities announcing a nine-hour vehicular restriction on National Highway 27 (NH-27). The movement of both passenger and cargo vehicles will be regulated from 6am to 3pm to ensure smooth security arrangements during the Prime Minister’s address near Videshwar Sthan in Jhanjharpur, Madhubani district.

The Bihar Police, in coordination with local district administrations, has designated alternative routes for vehicles travelling through Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, and Saharsa. Passenger buses from Darbhanga heading to Madhubani, Saharsa, and Supaul will be rerouted via Delhi Mor NH-27, Kewti, Aunsi, Rahika, Jaynagar, Ladniya, Laukahi, and Narhiya to reach Majhari Kosi Toll Plaza, continuing onward to Supaul and Saharsa.

For smaller vehicles, diversions will direct them through Gharaura Chowk, Kothi Mor, and Biraul via the Sakri Overbridge toward their destinations.

Vehicles from Supaul and Saharsa heading to Darbhanga and Madhubani will follow similar detours. Meanwhile, large cargo vehicles, including trucks, will be held at toll plazas located across Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Supaul, Araria, Purnia, East Champaran, and Chhapra, and redirected accordingly during the restricted hours.

To ensure a secure perimeter around the Bhairavasthan police station and Videshwar temple, all vehicle movement will be restricted in the vicinity. Alternative travel will be facilitated via Kamtaul turn, Benipatti, Saharghat, Basopatti, and Jaynagar, while small vehicles headed towards Supaul and Saharsa can take the Balua bridge route.

Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic diversions and plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience.
