19,838 Bihar Police Constable Posts

Patna: Aspiring candidates for government service in Bihar have just one more day to apply for nearly 20,000 constable positions, as the Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) prepares to close applications for the Bihar Police Constable Recruitment 2025.

Originally set to close on April 18, the application deadline was extended to April 25 to accommodate the large number of interested applicants. The recruitment drive, which began on March 18, seeks to fill 19,838 vacancies, making it one of the largest police hiring campaigns in the state’s recent history.

Of the total posts, 6,717 positions have been earmarked for women, a move welcomed by gender equality advocates and a significant step towards more inclusive representation in Bihar’s police force.

A Key Opportunity for 12th Pass Candidates

Eligibility for the constable positions is open to candidates who have passed the Intermediate (12th) examination from a recognised board. Additionally, qualifications such as a Maulvi Certificate from the Bihar Madrasa Board, or Shastri (with English) and Acharya (without English) certifications from the Bihar Sanskrit Board, are also accepted—offering a broader window of opportunity for students from diverse academic backgrounds.

Interested candidates must apply through the CSBC’s official website: csbc.bihar.gov.in.

A Pathway to Stable Public Employment

While the exact salary details were not specified in the official announcement, the Bihar Police Constable position typically offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100, under Level-3 of the 7th Pay Commission matrix. The role also includes standard government benefits, making it a secure and respected employment opportunity, especially for young people seeking long-term careers in public service.

As the recruitment deadline looms, authorities have urged eligible candidates not to wait until the last minute, citing the potential for heavy traffic on the portal during the final hours.
