Man Beaten to Death Over Land Dispute in Patna’s Khusrupur, Two Critically Injured

Patna: A land dispute in Malpur village under Khusrupur police station limits of Patna district turned deadly on Friday when a man was allegedly beaten to death by his uncle, cousins, and their supporters. The incident occurred over the harvesting of wheat crops grown on a disputed piece of land.

The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Singh, 30, son of the late Amarendra Singh. Mukesh, along with his younger brother Putul Singh and uncle Sanjay Singh, had gone to harvest wheat on a four-kattha plot of land, which has been the centre of a family dispute for several years. The land was reportedly claimed by Mukesh’s paternal uncle Vimal Singh, leading to a violent confrontation.

According to eyewitnesses, Vimal Singh, along with his sons and supporters, confronted Mukesh’s group and insisted that the land belonged to them. The argument soon escalated into a physical assault, with the accused allegedly using sticks and rods to attack Mukesh, Putul, and Sanjay. Mukesh died on the spot due to severe injuries, while Putul and Sanjay were critically injured and have been admitted to PMCH in Patna.

The victim’s family has accused Vimal Singh and his associates of murder and demanded strict action. Rural SP has assured that all accused will be arrested soon. The village remains tense following the incident.
