UPSC 2024 Results: IIT Patna Alumni Among Top Toppers, Inspire New Wave of Aspirants

Patna : Four alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna have secured top ranks in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024, one of the most competitive public recruitment processes in the country.

Vivek Garg (AIR 114), Abhinav Sharma (AIR 130), Sudha Chauhan (AIR 347), and Vishal (AIR 439) — graduates from the institute’s engineering programmes — are among the successful candidates who will now move on to roles in India’s civil services, including the IAS, IPS, and IFS.

Garg completed a BTech in Chemical Engineering in 2021, Sharma in Civil Engineering in 2020, Chauhan in Electrical Engineering in 2019, and Vishal in Mechanical Engineering in 2022.

The success of the four candidates underscores IIT Patna’s growing reputation not only as a centre for technological education but also as a training ground for future public administrators.

IIT Patna’s Director, Prof T N Singh, congratulated the alumni on their achievement. Senior faculty members, including Prof A K Thakur and Dr N K Tomar, also extended their best wishes.
