Patna: Global tech giant Samsung introduced its latest artificial intelligence (AI) innovations to students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna during a special technical session, sparking discussions on real-world applications and deepening academic-industry collaboration.
The session featured senior representatives from Samsung Research, including Amit Kumar Sinha (Head, HR), Ritesh Sanran (Engineering Manager), and Rahul Agarwal (Senior Chief Manager). They were welcomed by IIT Patna Director Professor T.N. Singh, who honoured the visiting delegation with a traditional shawl.
Focused on the theme of next-generation AI solutions, the session offered students a close-up look at how Samsung’s cutting-edge technologies are designed to make everyday tasks more intuitive and productive. Particular attention was given to “Now Brief”, Samsung’s AI-powered personal assistant, which supports users in managing their schedules, summarising calls, and translating languages in real-time.
Students were especially intrigued by features that break down communication barriers—such as live call translation and AI-generated call summaries—highlighting AI’s growing role in productivity and global connectivity.
Beyond showcasing products, Samsung’s R&D experts discussed the foundational computer science principles behind such innovations. Topics like algorithm design, data structures, and problem-solving methodologies were explored in detail, providing a valuable technical perspective to aspiring engineers.
The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where students posed direct questions to the experts about AI’s future, career paths in tech, and the skills needed to thrive in the industry. Organisers said the event was both informative and inspiring, and marked a step forward in Samsung’s ongoing engagement with India’s top engineering institutions.
