Patna: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is expected to visit Gaya on May 15 as part of his ongoing outreach efforts in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The visit, his fourth to the state in five months, will include a meeting with party workers and is part of a broader push by the Congress to energize its cadre and consolidate its position in the state.

Sources within the party confirmed that several national leaders are also scheduled to visit Bihar this week, underscoring the Congress’s renewed focus on the state. Gandhi’s last visit was on April 7, when he joined Kanhaiya Kumar’s ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ Yatra in Begusarai. Earlier this year, he also participated in the Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan in Patna, highlighting constitutional values and democratic rights.

The Congress high command has recently undertaken a series of organisational changes, including the appointment of new district presidents across all 40 constituencies in Bihar — a move seen as part of a larger strategy to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

Last month, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed an election rally in Buxar, further signalling the party’s intent to maintain high-level engagement in the run-up to the polls.
