Patna: The Bihar government is set to expand public transport services by introducing passenger vehicles on 255 routes across the state, including 25 newly identified corridors and revisions to 230 existing ones. The state’s Transport Department has called for public feedback before finalising the proposed routes.
These developments are part of the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme, under which a total of 2005 bus routes were previously determined in July 2024. The 255 revised and new routes have now been uploaded on the Transport Department’s website. Citizens, vehicle owners, and stakeholders have been invited to submit their objections or suggestions in person at the department’s office in Vishweshwaraiya Bhawan, Bailey Road, Patna.

The 25 new routes include key city and district-level connections such as:
- Patna to Fatuha
- Bihar Sharif to Rajauli via Giriak
- Katihar to Kishanganj
- Barachatti to Gaya
- Sobh to Gaya
- Jaigir to Gaya
- Raghunathpur Bazaar to Bettiah
- Khora Chowk to Muzaffarpur Imli Chatti
- Raxaul Dhala to Motihari (via Katgenwa Border)
- Matiarwa Border to Bettiah and Motihari
- Tajpur to Patna

CM Block Transport Scheme Details:
As part of the CM Block Transport Scheme, seven individuals from each block will receive support to operate public vehicles. The beneficiaries include:
- 2 from Scheduled Castes
- 2 from Extremely Backward Classes
- 1 from Backward Class
- 1 from Minority Community
- 1 from General Category
In blocks with over 1,000 Scheduled Tribe residents, an additional beneficiary from the ST community will be supported. Each participant is eligible for a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh per vehicle. The scheme is scheduled to continue through 2025–26.
