New Delhi: In the aftermath of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an emergency meeting with party MPs in Delhi on Wednesday, accompanied by the party’s national president Lalan Singh and Minister Sanjay Jha.
The meeting, lasting approximately an hour, sought to address various issues and concerns within the party. Speculations about Nitish’s dissatisfaction after the INDIA meeting were promptly dismissed by the party’s national president, Lalan Singh. Singh asserted that there is no resentment within the party and clarified that Nitish was present until the conclusion of the meeting.
Notably, Nitish obtained prior permission from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi before attending the meeting. The decision was made to have only one or two individuals brief the media, thereby eliminating any grounds for discontent. Lalan Singh emphasized that seat distribution across states will be promptly addressed through joint meetings involving all alliance leaders.
Despite the overall positive tone, it was observed that JDU MP from Sitamarhi, Sunil Kumar Pintu, did not attend the meeting. Pintu has been critical of JDU and CM Nitish Kumar, labeling the INDIA Alliance meeting as a wasteful expenditure.
Speaking on the proceedings, Madhepura MP Dinesh Chandra Yadav mentioned that CM Nitish gathered information from all MPs regarding their respective areas. The Chief Minister provided assurances on various issues, although specific details of the discussion points were not disclosed by any MP.
Yadav further clarified that Nitish Kumar harbors no resentment towards the INDIA Alliance and has no intention of leaving the coalition. Nitish Kumar has consistently expressed that his primary goal is to challenge the ruling BJP and has not engaged in discussions about specific positions or tickets within the party. The meeting highlighted the unity and collective resolve within the party, dispelling any rumors of internal discord.
