Patna: With the monsoon season fast approaching, the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) has handed over three crucial roads to the Road Construction Department (RCD) for immediate reconstruction. This proactive measure aims to prevent public inconvenience often caused by damaged roads during the heavy rains.

BUIDCO is working on a “war footing” to complete its ongoing sewerage network projects and ensure the swift restoration of affected roads. In a recent development, a list of three roads, totaling 1,192 meters in length, has been given to the RCD for necessary repairs. These roads were impacted by the laying of sewerage pipes under BUIDCO’s projects.

BUIDCO Managing Director, Animesh Kumar Parashar, is actively overseeing the situation, consistently directing construction agencies to restore excavated roads promptly upon project completion. “So that the general public does not face any kind of problem during the rains,” he emphasized. This latest handover follows a previous list of 39 roads submitted to the RCD for restoration.

Roads Handed Over to RCD:
The three roads transferred to the RCD for urgent attention include Sahdev Mahato Marg (461 meters) in Digha Zone 1, Ghuddoud Road near SSB Campus (321 meters) in Digha Zone 2, and Jaleshwar Temple to Jogipur (410 meters) in Kankarbagh Zone.
These roads, specifically those in the Digha zone, were handed over to the RCD after the completion of sewerage pipe laying work.

Restoration Protocols:
It’s important to note that the contracts with BUIDCO’s agencies include a clause for the restoration of dug-up roads. This ensures that roads are reconstructed to their original condition as soon as the work is finished.

While the RCD handles the restoration of its own roads, BUIDCO’s agencies are responsible for repairing roads that fall under the jurisdiction of the Patna Municipal Corporation.

This collaborative effort between BUIDCO and the RCD is expected to significantly improve road conditions and provide much-needed relief to commuters in Patna during the upcoming monsoon season.
