Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday conducted an on-site inspection of several key infrastructure projects in Patna, directing officials to expedite their completion to enhance urban connectivity and ease traffic congestion.
The Chief Minister began his visit at JP Ganga Path, where he reviewed ongoing beautification works including landscaping and plantation. Emphasising the importance of greenery and road safety, he said the initiative would enhance the visual appeal of the area and ensure safer, uninterrupted traffic movement.
“The JP Ganga Path is a remarkable project,” CM Nitish said. “Its beautification must match its scale and significance.”
Following this, CM Nitish visited Gaighat to inspect the construction of a down ramp towards the river adjacent to JP Ganga Path. The ramp is expected to eliminate the existing U-turn provision at the site, allowing for safer and more direct vehicle movement. He urged officials to complete the ramp at the earliest and instructed them to examine options to link JP Ganga Path with both the Mahatma Gandhi Setu and an upcoming four-lane bridge nearby.
CM Nitish later reviewed progress at the under-construction Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur six-lane bridge. Stressing its strategic importance, he called for its swift completion to facilitate seamless traffic flow between North and South Bihar. The bridge, once operational, is expected to reduce congestion in Patna city and improve accessibility for residents in the eastern parts of the capital. The Chief Minister was accompanied by senior state officials and engineers during the inspection.
