
Muzaffarpur: A major fire broke out in Bhikhanpura, located in the Mushari block of Muzaffarpur, on Saturday night. The fire started suddenly and quickly spread, burning down more than half a dozen houses in Maharana Pratap Nagar, Street No. 8, under the Sadar police station area. Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in the incident, though thankfully, no one was hurt.
Local people said they saw flames rising from one house and within minutes, the fire spread to nearby homes. Neighbours tried hard to put out the fire but were not successful. The fire department was called and after much effort, their team managed to control the blaze and stop it from spreading further.
The homes of Umashankar Paswan, Ratan Paswan, Chhote Lal Paswan, Mukesh Paswan, Rakesh Paswan, Rajesh Paswan, and Sone Lal Paswan were completely destroyed. According to the families, they were not at home when the fire started, and by the time they returned, everything inside had been turned to ashes. The reason for the fire is still being looked into.
Soon after the fire was reported, the local Block Officer visited the scene and provided food and emergency help to the affected families. Officials said they will offer more help under different government schemes once the investigation is finished. The fire has left the families homeless and in shock, as they now wait for support to rebuild their lives.
