Gayaji: Police have arrested three men accused of planning to rob a bank and a jewellery shop in Gaya city, while two others remain absconding. Weapons, cartridges, two motorcycles, and three mobile phones were seized during the operation.
Authorities received intelligence about suspicious youths gathered under the Sitakund four-lane bridge. When police arrived, five individuals attempted to flee. Two were caught after a chase and identified as Manish Kumar, 22, and Naveen Kumar, 20, both residents of Navdih Khurd under Wazirganj police jurisdiction. They later revealed the identity of their third accomplice, Chandan Kumar, 25, from Kajur village, who was apprehended near the Gaya court.
A search recovered two desi pistols and three live cartridges concealed under the motorcycles ridden by Manish and Naveen. Each of the three men was found with an Android phone.
All three arrested have multiple cases registered against them, with Manish alone facing ten. They were released from jail roughly six weeks ago. The trio are linked to the notorious Radha gang, known for bank and jewellery robberies, road holdups, and chain snatching.
An FIR has been filed under the Arms Act at the Mufassil police station. Police continue to search for the two remaining suspects.
