Bhagalpur/Patna: In a disturbing incident in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, the Vande Bharat Express was pelted with stones on Saturday, triggering chaos and fear among passengers on board. The incident occurred near Akbarnagar station, shortly after the train had resumed its journey following a temporary halt due to a collision with a stray animal.

According to reports, the semi-high-speed train was en route from Patna to Howrah when it struck an animal that had wandered onto the tracks. The collision led to the animal’s death and briefly disrupted the train’s movement. While railway staff managed to resolve the situation and the train resumed its course, local unrest escalated. Shortly thereafter, unknown miscreants began hurling stones at the train, reportedly damaging window panes and alarming passengers.

Eyewitnesses said passengers were left in a state of panic, with many ducking for cover inside the compartments. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) teams were immediately deployed to investigate the matter.
