Darbhanga: The son of BJP MP Dr Ashok Yadav from Madhubani has gone missing from Darbhanga district in Bihar. The missing youth, Vibhuti Yadav, is 24 years old and studies in Delhi. He had come to Darbhanga two days ago and was last seen at his residence in Bengali Tola, which falls under the Laheriyasarai police station. Since Sunday morning, his whereabouts are unknown.
MP Ashok Yadav has filed a missing report at the local police station. Police have now started searching for Vibhuti. Sadar SDPO Amit Kumar said the matter is being taken seriously and all efforts are being made to find him as soon as possible. The sudden disappearance of a Member of Parliament’s son has created tension in the area.
This is not the first time that a politician’s family member has gone missing in Bihar. In 2005, then Labour Minister Santosh Singh claimed that his son had been kidnapped and alleged that a senior RJD leader had even demanded ransom. In another incident in 2024, the son of JDU MLA Narendra Kumar Singh, also known as Bogo Singh, went missing in Begusarai but was later found in a hotel after a long search.
Earlier in 2023, BJP MLA Rashmi Verma from Narkatiaganj was also reportedly kidnapped, and a ransom of Rs 2 crore was demanded. She was later rescued by her family and the police. These repeated incidents have raised questions about the safety of political families in the state. The investigation in the current case is ongoing.
