Patna: In a bid to accelerate the resolution of pending departmental proceedings, the Bihar government has entrusted 12 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with additional responsibilities as Investigation Commissioners under the General Administration Department (GAD), alongside their existing posts.
The move aims to streamline the inquiry process and ensure prompt accountability within the state’s administrative framework.
Among those appointed are H.R. Srinivas, Principal Secretary of the Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department; Narmadeshwar Lal, Principal Secretary of the Minor Water Resources Department; Mayank Warvade, Project Director of the Bihar Education Project Council; and Sarvanathan M., Secretary of the Rural Works Department.
Other officers entrusted with dual roles include Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Rural Development Department who also holds the additional charge of Tourism Secretary; Ajay Yadav, Secretary of the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department with additional charge of the Education Department; and Sandeep Kumar R. Puddalkatti, Secretary of the Transport Department who also oversees the Road Construction Department.
Also named are Gopal Meena, Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department; Manoj Kumar, Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department; Sanjay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department and additional charge of the Health Department; Dinesh Kumar, Secretary of the Education Department; and Manoj Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Energy Department.
Meanwhile, following the leave of Dr. Ashima Jain, Secretary (Expenditure) in the Finance Department, Rachna Patil, Secretary of the General Administration Department, has been handed the additional charge of overseeing the Finance Department.
