Patna:The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids on Wednesday at several locations in Patna and Ranchi in connection with the NEET 2024 paper leak case. The raids were focused on people linked to Sanjeev Mukhiya, who is believed to be the main person behind the exam paper leak. The ED team from Delhi is leading the action.
Raids were carried out at the home of Sanjeev Mukhiya’s son, Dr Shiv, and at the residence of another accused, Sikandar Yadavendu. The raids have caused a stir as the investigation into the NEET paper leak grows bigger. Earlier this year, Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) arrested Sanjeev Mukhiya from Patna. A reward of Rs 3 lakh had been announced for his capture.
Mukhiya worked as a technical assistant in a government college in Nalanda. He is also accused in the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam paper leak case. The CBI, which is now investigating the NEET leak, is also questioning him. Officials say Mukhiya’s gang has links in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
His gang is believed to be involved in many paper leaks, including exams for veterinary doctors and English teachers in Haryana, and several others in Uttar Pradesh. The ED’s latest action shows that the government is taking the exam scam seriously and wants to catch everyone involved.
