From Caste Census to Railways: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Showers Praise on PM Modi in Siwan

Siwan: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday expressed his full support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives in Bihar, hailing the launch and foundation laying of 32 projects worth over Rs 9,500 crore during a public meeting in Siwan.
Addressing a large gathering alongside the Prime Minister, Governor Rajendra Arlekar, and several Union ministers, Nitish Kumar said the day marked a significant leap forward for the state. “Today, Bihar is going to benefit from 32 schemes, including the inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects worth Rs 9,518 crore. Two trains are also being launched. I heartily congratulate Prime Minister Modi for this,” he said.
The Chief Minister also used the occasion to contrast the current administration with previous regimes, taking aim at opposition leaders without naming them directly. “In the past, people couldn’t step out of their homes after dusk. Now those very people engage in propaganda,” he said. “What did the previous government do for women? We provided reservation and did substantial work in their interest. Since we got the opportunity, we have worked consistently to take Bihar forward.”
Nitish Kumar praised the Modi-led central government for what he described as sustained efforts to transform Bihar. “The Centre has done a lot for Bihar. After 2024, the Modi government made several major announcements for the state. Work has begun,” he said, highlighting the recent decision to conduct a caste-based census — a demand long raised by political parties in Bihar.
“All of you should fold your hands and thank the Prime Minister for his great work,” Kumar urged the crowd, declaring confidently that “Bihar will progress a lot, and no one will be left behind.”
The Siwan rally marks Prime Minister Modi’s fifth visit to Bihar in 2025, underscoring the state’s political importance ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
