Thieves Target MLA’s Government House in Patna’s VIP Area

Thieves stole household items including a cooler, fan and tap from the official bungalow of ex-minister Murari Prasad Gautam in Patna’s high-security zone.

Patna: A theft has taken place at the government bungalow of former Bihar minister and current MLA Murari Prasad Gautam in Patna. The bungalow, located at 12, Circular Road, is in a VIP area under the Secretariat police station. Thieves stole a fan, cooler, mattress, blanket, pillow, and even taps from the residence.

The theft was discovered on the morning of 22 June when the minister’s personal assistant, Sujit Kumar Jha, visited the house. He found many items missing and immediately informed the police. A case was registered at the Secretariat police station, and an investigation has begun.

Murari Prasad Gautam is the MLA from Chenari in Rohtas district. He was elected in 2020 on a Congress ticket and served as a minister in the Grand Alliance government. Later, he left the party, supported the NDA, and joined the BJP. His house being robbed in such a secure area has raised serious questions about law and order in the city.

This is not the first time such an incident has happened in Patna. In February, Minister Neeraj Kumar Bablu’s house was also robbed. Last year, RJD MLA Lallan Yadav’s residence was targeted twice in 48 hours. Items like taps and basins were stolen. These repeated cases show a worrying trend in the safety of VIP homes in Bihar’s capital.
