Railways to Run 17 Special Trains for Shravani Mela, Extends Stoppages at Jasidih and Sultanganj

Railways will operate 17 special trains and extend halts at Jasidih and Sultanganj to ease travel for Shravani Mela pilgrims next month.

Patna: In preparation for Shravani Mela, Railways will run 17 special trains connecting Jaynagar, Asansol, Raxaul, Deoghar, Danapur, Sahibganj, Gondia, Madhupur, Sultanganj, Jamalpur, Godda, Dumka and Baidyanathdham from July 9 to August 11. Stoppages of most mail, express and passenger trains at Jasidih station have been increased by five minutes, excluding major superfast services such as Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Howrah-Patna Vande Bharat Express and others.

Additionally, temporary two-minute halts have been introduced at Sultanganj station for Gaya-Kamakhya Express, Yeshwantpur-Bhagalpur Ang Express, Bhagalpur-Ajmer Express and Malda Town-Anand Vihar Express to ease pilgrim movement. Railways will also add one general coach each to Howrah-Raxaul Mithila Express, Howrah-Mokama Express, Howrah-Jaynagar Ganga Sagar Express and Sealdah-Ballia Express to manage increased crowding during the fair.
