Patna: Patna and several other districts in Bihar are reeling under sultry conditions, as high humidity continues to make life uncomfortable across the state. The Patna Meteorological Centre has forecast partly cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms and light rain in at least 18 districts, including the capital.
A heavy rainfall alert has been issued specifically for Kaimur and Rohtas districts, where downpours are expected to intensify. However, no major change in maximum temperatures is likely over the next five days, the Met office said.
Scattered rainfall was recorded over the past 24 hours in Kishanganj, Araria, Gaya, Bhabua, West Champaran, Rohtas, Madhubani, Sheikhpura and Supaul. Kishanganj’s Taiyabpur reported the highest rainfall at 53.6 mm. Meanwhile, Gopalganj recorded the state’s highest temperature at 37.8°C, while Patna registered a maximum of 33.7°C with 0.2 mm of rainfall.
The Met office has predicted that thunderstorms with rain may continue in isolated parts of the state for the next four days, offering some respite from the persistent humidity. In Patna and surrounding areas, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with the likelihood of intermittent rain.
