Patna: The initial phase of Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has almost concluded, with over 1,69,49,208 enumeration forms collected and nearly 7.25% uploaded to the Election Commission portal, despite rumours about changes in the revision process.
Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is progressing smoothly with strong participation from electors across the state. The initial phase, focused on printing and distributing enumeration forms, is nearing completion, ensuring forms are available to all eligible voters.
Authorities have clarified that there has been no change in the SIR instructions issued on June 24, despite rumours suggesting otherwise. The draft electoral roll to be published on August 1 will include names of individuals whose count forms have been received.
As of 6 pm on July 6, a total of 1,69,49,208 forms have been collected, accounting for 21.46% of Bihar’s 7,89,69,844 enrolled voters. In the last 24 hours alone, officials collected 65,32,663 forms, with 19 days remaining before the submission deadline of July 25.
Uploading of forms is also underway, with 7.25% already uploaded. Partially filled forms can be downloaded and completed forms can be uploaded directly by voters on the ECI-Net app.
The field workforce comprises 77,895 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducting door-to-door visits to assist voters. Many BLOs are taking live photographs of voters to ease document collection. Additionally, 20,603 more BLOs are being appointed to ensure smooth completion of the process.
Around 4 lakh volunteers, including government staff, NCC cadets, and NSS members, are assisting the elderly, differently abled, sick, and vulnerable people. Across Bihar’s 243 Assembly constituencies, 239 EROs, 963 AEROs, 38 DEOs, and state CEOs are facilitating the process on the ground.
Furthermore, 1,54,977 Booth Level Agents appointed by political parties are actively contributing to the ongoing SIR exercise, ensuring comprehensive outreach and documentation for the upcoming draft roll.
