Prashant Kishor Unveils Ambitious Plan for 2025: 75 Candidates from Extremely Backward Communities to Contest Elections

Patna: Prashant Kishore, the convener of the Jan Suraj campaign, on Saturday claimed that at least 75 candidates from backward communities would contest in the 2025 assembly elections in Bihar.

Speaking at the Karpoori Thakur Jan Shatabdi Celebration held at the Bapu Sabhagar in Patna, Kishore asserted that successive governments have failed to uphold the rights of the poor, merely seeking votes from marginalized communities without addressing their fundamental issues. He emphasized the plight of illiterate children in Bihar, particularly from backward communities.

Addressing a diverse audience from various districts, Kishore urged people to prioritize their own interests and the well-being of their children over allegiance to political parties or leaders. He encouraged the people to support candidates from their own communities, ensuring their active participation in the political process.

Jan Suraj, under Kishore’s leadership, pledged to support the education of 500 meritorious children from extremely backward societies each year. The initiative aims to select 10 to 15 children from every district in the state. Jan Suraj will extend assistance to those students aspiring to prepare for competitive exams. Kishore underscored the significance of education, urging the people of Bihar to prioritize it, even if it means making personal sacrifices.

“Unless you give education to your children, you and your children cannot progress,” Kishore said. He called for heightened awareness about education and emphasized that progress in society is contingent on the education and empowerment of its children.

The event, presided over by Jan Suraj leader Santosh Mahato, featured the warm welcome of Kishore. Jan Suraj’s state chief spokesperson Sanjay Kumar Thakur and Dr. Mantosh Sahni facilitated the proceedings, while various leaders, including Dr. Abhinav Anand, MLC Sachchidanand Rai, and MLC Afaq Ahmed, addressed the gathering.
