Two Arrested Over Burglary in Patna as Police Recover Stolen Items

Two habitual offenders have been arrested in Patna for burglarising a locked flat, with police recovering stolen items including a bike, TV, and silver jewellery.

Patna: Two men have been arrested in Patna in connection with a burglary at a closed flat in the city’s IAS Colony, with police recovering a stolen bike, television and silver jewellery.

According to City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh, the theft took place on May 20 at flat number 202 of Muralidhar Vatika, under Rupaspur police station limits. The flat was unoccupied at the time, and the burglars reportedly broke the lock to gain entry.

The suspects – identified as Sonu, a resident of Nurudiganj in Patna City, and Sumit Kumar alias Chhotka, from Loha Pool, Mehdiganj – were arrested following a targeted operation by a special police team. Officers used scientific and technical surveillance methods to trace and apprehend the accused.

Items recovered from the duo include a motorcycle, a television set, two inverters, a mobile phone, and silver ornaments.

Police confirmed that both men have prior criminal records. Sonu has previously been booked in theft cases under Mehdiganj and Chowk police stations, while Sumit has similar cases registered at Bypass and Mehdiganj police stations.
