New Delhi: The Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof. (Dr.) Sachin Chaturvedi, met with the Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, in the capital on Wednesday to discuss the university’s expanding role on the global academic stage.
During the meeting, the two discussed Nalanda University’s efforts to foster interdisciplinary learning and deepen international partnerships. Emphasis was placed on the institution’s contribution to “knowledge diplomacy” — an approach that positions academic exchange as a tool for strengthening India’s global engagement.
The discussion also touched on the university’s development roadmap, which aligns with the country’s broader ambitions in higher education and research. As India asserts a growing presence in international academia, Nalanda is seen as a key player in driving innovation and collaboration across borders.
