
Patna: The Bihar Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education organised a special two-day training workshop for principals, procurement officers, and accountants of government technical colleges and polytechnics. The workshops were held on July 10 and 11 at the Bihar Planetarium auditorium in Patna. The aim was to teach them better ways to manage staff records, finances, and online government purchases.
On the first day, principals and staff from all government polytechnic institutes, women’s polytechnic institutes, and the State Technical Council, Patna attended the training. The second day was for principals and staff from government engineering colleges across Bihar. The sessions were conducted by experts from the department, including GeM Deputy Director Ashutosh Kumar and HRMS nodal officer.
The training covered important topics. Under HRMS, participants learnt how to keep and update records of employees properly. Financial management sessions taught them how to prepare budgets and manage accounts carefully. Another session was about GeM procurement, which helps colleges buy goods and services online in a transparent and easy way.
Many principals, procurement officers, accountants, and other staff actively took part in these sessions. Officials said such training will help technical colleges in Bihar work more efficiently, use resources properly, and maintain transparency in their operations.
