Madhubani Set to Host Rs 70 Crore Textile Unit, Boosting Bihar’s Industrial Growth

Patna: A major industrial initiative is set to transform Madhubani, with RMP Fab Sourcing Pvt. Ltd. establishing a state-of-the-art textile processing and manufacturing unit in the Lohat Industrial Area. The project, with an investment of Rs 70 crore, has received first-phase approval from the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) in a meeting chaired by the Development Commissioner on July 11.
The unit will be set up on 15 acres of land allotted by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), under the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 summit.
Industry minister Nitish Mishra said the initiative signals rising investor confidence in Bihar’s industrial ecosystem.
With an annual production capacity of one lakh metres of fabric, the plant is expected to generate direct employment for around 750 local youth. The project aims not only to strengthen the textile sector in the state, but also to position Madhubani as an emerging textile hub.
“The move is in line with Bihar’s broader vision to attract private investment, promote self-reliance, and create job opportunities across districts. The unit will integrate advanced processing technologies and contribute to value addition in the region’s traditional and modern textile trade,” the Industry Minister said.
